Temporary Administrative Assistant - CENSSIS

About the Opportunity

This position will provide necessary administrative support and manage operational tasks for the Bernard M. Gordon Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems (Gordon-CenSSIS) and its affiliates, including, the ALERT (Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Emeritus Center of Excellence (COE) and SENTRY (Soft-target Engineering to Neutralize the Threat Reality) DHS COE.

  • Assist with required forms and other administrative aspects for Federal and other funding proposals.
  • Communicate with subcontract institutions to obtain required documents prior to deadlines.
  • Assist in preparation of DHS annual estimated and actual carryover submission and other required reports for Federal and other funding agencies.
  • Review, track, and take timely action on deliverables needed for agreements (subcontracts, purchased service, independent contractor,industrial partners etc.)
  • Process requisitions to create purchase orders and process vendor invoices, expense voucher reimbursements and submit documents via IntelliBuy.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred and one to two years of experience with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required. The incumbent must have strong written and oral communication skills. They must also be organized, self-motivated, flexible, and a team-player who can succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The incumbent must be willing to pitch in as needed in a variety of administrative and event-based tasks. They must be able to meet deadlines and understand the importance of confidentiality when dealing with Center files and issues. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks is strongly desired.
