The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Associate Academic Technology, Professional.

This position focuses on the technical development and exploration of innovative educational technologies to enable faculty to extend their instructional impact both inside and outside the classroom. Emphasis is on effective collaboration with teaching faculty to research, test, evaluate, and pilot potential solutions.
This job requires an unusual combination of skills and interests. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for the academic mission of Notre Dame, as well as an insatiable curiosity where educational and emerging technology is concerned. Inveterate tinkerers are encouraged to apply.
Emphasis is on technical development skills and complex problem solving centered around new and emerging technologies that require innovative, collaborative effort to research and develop potential solutions - examples include building working prototypes of new enterprise services such as lecture capture, video enabled websites, social computing platforms, mobile applications, etc.
The position works heavily with standard internet programming environments and closely with vendors to prototype new applications and system environments. The position also works as part of project teams with other campus IT and Education Technology professionals to help them understand new systems that eventually will become full production systems that they will need to support for their clients.
Other areas of responsibility including mentoring and training students, and effective teaming with college and departmental ed tech specialists. This position works with faculty from a wide range of academic disciplines and requires ability to effectively interact with faculty, students and university administrators.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, instructional technology, educational technology or a related field. Equivalent but direct work experience can be substituted. In-depth knowledge of computer hardware & operating systems. Expert level familiarity with IT products and services associated with instructional technology and sound pedagogy. Demonstrated project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in instructional technology, educational technology, or a related field. Teaching experience in higher ed. Expertise using and administering a variety of Learning Management Systems. Advanced skills in C++, C#, Java, HTML/XML, JavaScript, Perl, PHP/MySQL, Unity. Demonstrated success in system administration with Windows, OS X, Linux, Apache, MySQL, and cloud computing.
