Job Summary:
The Director of the Offices for Faculty Experience (OFE) plays a pivotal role in managing strategic initiatives that align with the priorities set by the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This leadership position encompasses comprehensive responsibility for the fiscal, operational, and human resource functions of the OFE, while also providing expert advice, coaching, and facilitation to promote teamwork and sustainability of initiatives. The Director will oversee significant projects from ideation to implementation, collaborating with leaders in the Offices of Faculty Affairs, Faculty Development, and Faculty Relations, as well as the Work and Culture Optimization Collaborative. This role emphasizes enhancing operational effectiveness, implementing innovative solutions, supporting OFE team members, and fostering collaborations throughout the University of Colorado School of Medicine and its partners.
The OFE Director has proven leadership skills with a strong background in operations, change management, and conflict resolution. They have experience in creating inclusive, high-functioning collaborative work environments, both in-person and remote, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in utilizing technology and software to enhance operational effectiveness. The OFE Director focuses on people, processes, and outcomes, with a commitment to fostering a positive workplace experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Development and Change Management: Build and nurture high-performing teams, facilitate organizational change, and advocate for OFE's needs and goals in alignment with the Senior Associate Dean's vision and the broader mission of the School of Medicine.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for faculty and staff within the OFE, partnering with human resources to attract and retain top talent and ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive efforts to enhance the usability, accessibility, efficiency, and value of OFE services. Stay informed about the latest technologies and best practices in faculty affairs and development to implement innovative solutions.
- Performance Metrics Development: Create metrics and milestones to assess success across OFE initiatives, ensuring alignment of priorities with leadership in various units. Guide the development of processes to collect, track, and report data for informed decision-making.
- Collaboration and Synergy Evaluation: Identify strategic opportunities for collaboration with other departments and units, promoting efficiency and enhancing the overall faculty experience.
- Compliance and Financial Oversight: Oversee, develops, and supports the appropriate administrative staff to ensure compliance with all administrative and fiscal policies and procedures. Oversee budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and draft internal and external contracts for the OFE, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals and compliance with university policies.
- Coaching and Team Support: Provide coaching to faculty and OFE staff. Provide faculty and staff development
- Internal and External Communications: Share OFE strategies broadly and learn from others by attending national meetings related to academic faculty well-being. Prepare and present reports, as directed.

Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

The Offices for the Faculty Experience (OFE) is a newly established unit within the Dean's Office in the School of Medicine, residing on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This unit includes the Office for Faculty Relations (OFR), the Office for Faculty Development (OFD), the Office for Faculty Affairs (OFA), and the School of Medicine's Faculty Work & Culture Optimization Collaborative for well-being.

OFE serves as a central point of contact for faculty within the School of Medicine, through the school's 6 Basic Science Departments, 18 Clinical Science Departments, and 12 Centers and Institutes. Nearly 5000 faculty, as well as part-time and volunteer clinical faculty, are represented and supported by the processes, services, and initiatives administered and led by the OFE team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant Professor:
- MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a medical or academic environment.
- Certified Professional Coach with an ICF Level 1 accreditation or higher.
Associate Professor:
- MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- At least 6 years of demonstrated experience in a medical or academic environment.
- Certified Professional Coach with an ICF Level 1 accreditation or higher.
Professor:
- MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in a medical or academic environment.
- Certified Professional Coach with an ICF Level 1 accreditation or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years or more in executive-level operations, encompassing human resources, finance, marketing, communications, strategic planning, and administration.
- Five (5) years of experience in developing organizational infrastructure, policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
- Experience: At least six (6) years of management experience in a complex higher education, healthcare, or biomedical research setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Complex Systems Analysis and Innovative Problem Solving: Experience in systems analysis, problem solving, strategic action planning, and execution.
- Results-Oriented Mindset: Commitment to prioritizing people, processes, and outcomes, with a focus driving positive change

Proven ability to lead and develop a team of 25 or more in both in-person and remote environments, establishing priorities and ensuring completion of activities.
- Fiscal and Administrative Operations: Experience directing sustainable fiscal and administrative operations in compliance with university, state, and relevant regulations.
- Change Management Expertise: Extensive knowledge and advanced skills in change management and team-building.
- Initiative Development: Strong skills in planning, executing, analyzing, monitoring, and delivering project outcomes.
- Collaboration and Conflict Resolution: Skilled in working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, managing conflict, and resolving challenges effectively.
- Mentoring and Performance Management: Proficient in mentoring, coaching, and managing the performance of a diverse team, including direct reports, leaders, and executives.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
This position will be hired between 50%-80% FTE to be negotiated with the hiring manager upon an offer being made
Assistant Professor: $160,000-$170,000
Associate Professor: $160,000 to $170,000
Professor: $160,000 to $170,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
